When the “I AM” says, “I Will”

A few months ago, I wrote a series on the Nine Names of God that really resonated with me.

There are so many names for God in scripture, but I dug into nine of them that really spoke to my spirit:

The Creator

The I AM

The Father

God Most High

God Who Sees

The Provider

The Healer

Beginning to End

God is There

In one of the posts in that series, I studied God as the “I AM” or “Yahweh.”

He is the I AM because He just is.

Everything, and everyone, was created and is changing from one moment to the next, but the I AM just is.

He isn’t changing or becoming; He just is.

As I studied and wrote through each post, the Holy Spirit kept whispering to me each time I read the words, “I will” in His Word.

He would whisper, “When the I AM says I WILL, you need to listen.”

So I did. I looked closely at His promises and dug into the truths in His Word.

I heard the I AM say, “I will give you rest.” So, I thanked Him for rest and peace.

I heard the I AM say, “I will make a way.” So, I believed Him and thanked Him for making a way where I saw no way out.

When the Great I AM says, “I will,” we need to lean in to see what comes next out of His mouth.

Some of His promises were for specific people at one specific time, but many of them are for us still today! I want to remind you today, just as I need to be reminded, that we have to cling to His promises and speak them over our lives with confidence!

His promises will NEVER fail and our Father always keeps His word.

“Not one word of all the good promises that the Lord had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.”

Joshua 21:45

“For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.”

2 Corinthians 1:20

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”

Hebrews 10:23
