I'm so excited to share part two of this blog series today. This week we're looking at "The Father" and "God Most High." I love the contrast of these two names. That He's the God above all, but He's also close, holding us tenderly as a Father.

If you've never known Him as Father, I pray that you will find comfort in this post. Dig into the Word to find out who He is. Discover that He is an amazing Father who gives good gifts. He isn't a puppet master and He doesn't send death and destruction, BUT He comforts us and walks with us through our storms.

Blog Series Part 1: Nine Names of God {The Creator + The I AM}

I remember learning about the names of God in Bible College. They seemed interesting. Beautiful, even. But I hadn’t lived them yet. I knew God as the the Creator and the Provider. On paper, I knew He was the Healer and the One who Sees. But I hadn’t truly lived them yet.

I’m so excited to launch my first “blog series” today! I never imagined I'd still be blogging weekly, let alone publishing a "series!"

When I began writing this post last week, I realized it was going to be way too long (even longer than my typical, super long post.) So I decided to turn it into a 5-part series that I will publish over the next few months.

NIAW: I am 1 in 8

"This is what infertility looks like. I'm just exhausted. So many no's, wrong ways, not you, not now, maybe never, closed doors, sad news, if only's, shoot this, try that. It's just too much to bear sometimes."

These are the words I actually typed on my infertility blog 3 years ago. I had so little hope. I'd made fertility my idol and my god instead of seeking the Father's heart, laying everything at His feet, and resting in His peace.

This week on the blog, I'm sharing how He replaced fear with peace. Barrenness with LIFE. Shame with honor.

If He hadn’t Risen

With Easter coming up in a few days, now more than ever, I’m completely caught up in the last few days of His life, tearing through the end of each gospel, desperate to hear the story. Again and again and again.

I’m looking for the details I may have missed. And He meets me there every time. He reveals the new I was searching for. Every single time.

Was he just a nice guy? A brilliant prophet? A good teacher? Who was this Jesus? And what does his resurrection have to do with me, a 30-something living in Dallas 2000 years after it took place?

Don't Read My Blog

Recently I was FaceTiming a friend who has felt overwhelmed by life and all.the.things lately.

“I’m just finding it hard to find time to read the Word. After working all day and taking care of my kids and my husband, cleaning the house, and having a few minutes to myself, there just isn’t any time left and I’m just so dang exhausted. It seems like I’m always behind on everything and there’s just zero margin in my life,” she said.

Why Are You Still Drinking Milk?

I wish I could take back the years I wasted "drinking milk" when I could've moved on to "solid foods."

My 20-year Jesus birthday is coming up next week and I couldn't help but wonder if I actually feel 20 years old in Heaven years.

The Word has so much to say about spiritual maturity. May we not become complacent and forget that the Father's heart is always about life, growth, and maturity for each of us!

When the Seed Falls

A few days ago, we became people who do their yard.

I watched as Bry violently hit the stunted roots with the pickax and I heard the Holy Spirit whisper, "This was your heart. It was hard, calloused, dry."

Then I watched as he effortlessly made his way through the parts of the yard with fresh, healthy soil. Again, Holy Spirit whispered above the noise, "Do you see now? When your heart is soft and humble, I have something to work with. Something can grow here."

Come Away with Me: Arkansas

It's been a few weeks since I buried myself in the back corner of this little house in Arkansas, desperate to hear from the Father. My 5-day "Jesus Retreat" brought more than just the confirmation of His voice.

There were so many moments on this trip that I'll never forget. Some of them will live on, like the tattoo I got on day 3 and the song the Holy Spirit wrote through me that weekend. Sharing all of this and more on the blog today, along with a YouTube video of the song we wrote.
